When is admission campaign started every year for MBBS?
MBBS admissions are done on yearly basis and campaign is started by Admitting University of respective province in the Month of August normally.
Student having less than 70% marks in FSc or equivalent degree is eligible for appearing in MDCAT or Entry Test?
As per new Admission Policy amended by PMDC on 30th May, 2019, minimum eligibility criteria for applying in MBBS is 70% marks in FSc pre-medical or equivalent. No student will be entertained below this criteria.
If a student secures less than 50% marks in MDCAT but has greater than 70% marks in FSc or equivalent then he/she would be considered for merit?
No, because as per PMDC a student should have secured 70% marks in FSc or equivalent and at least 60% marks in MDCAT / Entry Test then he/she will be considered for merit.
What is the weightage formula for MBBS merit?
As per PMDC, merit will be made according to following weightage formula;
50% of FSc. or equivalent marks and,
50% of MDCAT / Entry Test marks
Can a student apply on the basis of previous year MDCAT/Entry Test?
No, because PMDC has clearly mentioned in its New Admission Policy that latest or fresh year MDCAT/Entry Test result will be considered for merit. However, foreign students having SAT or foreign MDCAT, where applicable, their test will be applicable for two years for the date of passing that test.
What is admission procedure for MBBS?
Briefly, Central Induction Policy (CIP) implemented by PMDC in which every year Admitting University (AU) of each province will advertise MBBS Admission Campaign and MDCAT/Entry Test in newspaper and on its website. Students having equal or greater than 70% marks in FSc. or equivalent will apply for appearing in MDCAT/Entry Test by depositing Test Fee as prescribed by the AU. After the conduction of MDCAT/Entry Test on the give date, result will be announced within 1-2 days by the AU. Later, Admitting University will start its online application procedure for limited time period. After the closing of Online Application Process, Admitting University will prepare and display merit lists according to the dates given in the advertisement.
How many institutions are offering MBBS degree program?
Till September 2019, there are 114 medical colleges and institutions in Pakistan which are offering MBBS Degree Program. Is there any Financial Assistance (FA) for MBBS student in a private medical college?
It depends upon the private medical college or institution if there is any Financial Assistance (FA) policy for deserving students because only students with strong financial background move towards for Private MBBS. However, if any institution will offer FA then amount of FA will be very less.
What is annual fee in private medical college?
From last year, by the order of Ex-Chief Justice of Supreme Court Pakistan, annual MBBS Fee of Private Medical Colleges has been fixed which Rs. 1,000,000 is for local seat and $18000 for foreign seat. However, categories A, B, & C have been defined by PMDC for private medical colleges and a college will charge fee according to its category.
Is migration allowed in MBBS?
Yes, migration is allowed but after the completion of 2nd Prof. Exam.
