MBBS ADMISSION CRITERIA IN PAKISTAN 2020

“Old MBBS Admission Policy 2018, as amended by dissolved PMDC in its meeting held on 30th May, 2019”, general MBBS admission criteria 2020 in Pakistan is as follows:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR MBBS 2020

Local Students:

Intermediate Student, having twelve years education of Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or F.Sc or equivalent with pre-medical combination with 70% marks is a minimum eligibility criteria for MBBS program MBBS Admissions in Pakistan.

A-level student, having a course from a foreign education system or university or examination body with at least three science subjects i.e. chemistry, biology and either mathematics or physics and securing minimum seventy percent marks and such course must be recognized by the Inter Boards Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) for equivalency to FSc. or Higher Secondary School Certificate level of Pakistan.

MBBS Admission Requirements in Pakistan for Foreign Students

Foreign or Overseas Pakistani students completed their twelve years of schooling from abroad and aiming for taking MBBS admissions 2020 against open merit or foreign seats in any private medical colleges admissions 2020 must have passed, obtaining minimum seventy percent (70%) marks in aggregate, in an examination of a course from a foreign university or examining body or its education system with at least three subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry and either physics or math and such course must have been duly certified by IBCC for equivalency to FSc. or Higher Secondary School Certificate level of Pakistan. These candidate also meet following requirements for admissions:

  • Valid IELTS or TOEFL (An English Proficiency Test) with a minimum band score of 5.5 or 500 or have a certification by National University of Modern Languages (NUML) after one year English language course.
  • SATII examination with minimum 550 marks in each of the three subjects i.e biology, chemistry and either physics or mathematics or a foreign MDCAT with minimum score of 500 is also acceptable for applying in MBBS.

MBBS ADMISSION PROCEDURE IN PAKISTAN

  • MBBS Admission Advertisement or MBBS Admission Open in Pakistan every year in the month of July/August. Admitting University of will announce MBBS Admission Advertisement 2020 this year. Now, Centralized New MDCAT Test System 2020 will be implemented by the PMDC and Centralized MDCAT will be conducted through out the country on same date by the respective official auhtorties. 
  • Students will apply for MBBS in public or private medical colleges through Admitting University (the University which is responsible for conduction of MDCAT 2020  and preparing merit of  colleges).

         MDCAT Date 2020 : 9th Augsut, 2020 is expected date for MDCAT 2020.

  • MBBS Admission 2020 Documents required: Pre admissions documents required for MBBS Admissions 2020 are as follows;
    • Matric or equivalent degree certificate issued by concerned board or authority
    • FSc. pre-medical or equivalent result card issued by the concerned authority or board
    • Candidate's Domicile
    • CNIC / Juvenile Smart Card /NICOP/POC/Pakistani passport of candidate
    • Recent photographs of candidates 3.5 (w) x 4.5 (h)
    • Specimen of candidate's signature and Left Thumb Impression (LTI) of candidate
    • MDCAT registration fee 2020
  • Medical Admitting Universities in Pakistan 
    • UHS, Lahore for MBBS Admissions in Punjab, Federal, Baluchistan & AJK
    • LUMHS, Jamshoro/DUMS, Karachi/SMBBU Larkana for MBBS Admissions through NTS in Sindh
    • KMU, Peshawar for MBBS Admissions in KPK
    • NUMS, Islamabad for MBBS Admissions in medical colleges under military control
  • After the submission of MBBS admissions apply online 2020 or MBBS Admissions Application Form 2020 in University, centralized province wise MDCAT / Entry Test will be conducted on same date. Later MBBS admissions will done on the basis of  merit list which will be announced by respective official authorities.
  • MBBS Documents Verification 
  • After the announcement of merit lists by the Authorized University, selected candidates will be informed for appearing in the interview to be conducted by the respective medical college admission committee along with required original documents and submission of fee and admission of candidate will be subject to MBBS document verification.

MBBS MERIT FORMULA 2019

MBBS Merit Formula 2019 was as per following MBBS Merit Calculation Formula :-

  • 50% of F.Sc (Pre Medical) / HSSC / Equivalent; and
  • 50% of MDCAT / Entry Test.

MBBS STUDY INSURANCE IN PAKISTAN IN PRIVATE MEDICAL COLLEGES

As per current PMDC Admission Policy 2019, student desirous for self-finance admission in MBBS in private medical colleges of Pakistan will also submit his/her father/guardian latest year wealth statement and income tax return which will be equivalent to five years of MBBS fee. Similarly, he/she will also submit MBBS study insurance certificate to ensure the payment of MBBS fees for the remaining years’ study in case of demise of parent/guardian.
