A Stamps Scholar must complete a full-time undergraduate program of study with no fewer than 12 credit hours during each of the fall and spring semesters for a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year. A minimum of a 3.0 GPA for the academic year must be maintained at the University of Miami, with the initial calculation at the end of the second semester of attendance.
Selection Process
The scholarship is awarded to high school seniors based on a thorough evaluation of their application and supporting documents.
Semi-finalist candidates for the Stamps Scholarship are required to interview via Zoom with the Stamps Scholarship Selection Committee in January.
Michelle Gyles-McDonnough Appointed as Executive Director of UNITAR by UN Secretary-General
16 December 2024 – New York, USA – United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Michelle Gyles-McDonnough of Jamaica as the next Executive Director of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). She will assume the role on 22 February 2025, succeeding Nikhil Seth of India.
