One of the most important things is that Alberta University has removed the English Proficiency Test for some Countries. Please check the list of Alberta UniversityELP Exemptions.

Be full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate students
Have completed a minimum of 12.0 units for credit, with at least 10.5 units graded using the standard nine-point scale in two of the three terms of study in the previous academic year (May to April)
Be undertaking an international heritage work or learning experience
