The Riga Technological University is currently involved in research helping the Latvian economy to grow, and the university achieves three QS stars. Riga is also host to Riga Stradins University. It was originally founded as Riga Medical Institute RSU is specifically known for the health sciences and is the only Latvian university to have traditionally been integrated into the country’s healthcare system. Other famous institutes in Riga are Turiba University, Riseba and Riga graduate school of law.
Rezekene:
Rezekene is also a great place to study in Latvia. Rezekne, the destination near Blue Lakes, lies between two highest hills of Latgale – Hill Makonkalns and Hill Lielais Liepu kalns, the largest lakes of Latvia – Razna an. Rezekne Academy of Technologies is a one of most acknowledged universities in Latvia. Higher education institute in Rezekne was established in 1925. Around 400 students enroll in the institute every year and currently more than 2000 students are studying at the campus. International partners of the exchange program students set up a multicultural atmosphere at the university. All 42 study programs in the fields of business administration, engineering, design, humanities and education at university gained the international accreditations.
Ventspils:
The town of Ventspils is situated in northwestern Latvia in the historical Courland zone of Latvia. It is the sixth largest city in the count. This small town resides renowned higher education institute’s branches. The higher education institutions in Ventspils are Ventspils University College, branch office of Riga Technical University in Ventspils, branch office of Riga Teacher Training and Educational Management Academy in Ventspils, branch office of College of Law in Ventspils, and the branch office of Baltic International Academy in Ventspils. Engineering Research Centre Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Centre has now started all its activities in Ventspils University College along with the activities and research in Latvian Electronic and Optical Equipment Manufacturing Competency Centre Leo Petijumu Centrs.
Liepaja:
The city is located between the Baltic Sea and the Liepaja Lake, connected by the Trade Canal. It is the third largest city residing 72 thousand people. Liepaja University is located in Liepaja. This accredited state higher educational establishment, offers study programs in all three study levels: basic studies, Master and Doctorate studies. Every year about 30 study programs are conducted at the institute.
Liepaja University is a good option for international students! It have all facilities, like a good and cheap dormitory and the best thing is that many courses are taught in English therefore it’s a destination of choice to study for foreign students. Students who want to take admission in this institute need good IELTS score, minimum 5.5. You should speak and understand English reading and writing competently.
