Ans 1: Palm oil is plant of the west Africa. Today it is being planted in warm humid climate of the equatorial and sub-tropical monsoon region. its plant was introduced in Malaysia in 1870 A.D. Today 42 countries of the world are producing palm oil in the world. Today Malaysia outranks all countries of world in production and export of palm oil. Besides Indonesia, Nigeria, Colombia, Thailand, Papua, New Guinea and Cote-d-ivoire are other important countries in palm oil production.

Ans 1: Today, 60 nations of the world cultivate sunflower in the world Russian Federation, U.S.A, Ukraine, France, China, India, South Africa, Romania, Spain, Turkey and Italy are major sunflower producing countries of the world.

Write down the importance of soybean among edible oils in the world ?

Ans 1: Indigenous to China, where it has been grown for more than 500 years, the soybean has supreme importance as a food plant. Today soybean ranks second after palm oil. Its seeds contain 22 percent best oil and 40 percent protein. Today 83 countries of the world, cultivate soybean crop. More than 91 million hectare area is under soybean crop, while its annual production in the world is 319.78 million metric tons. U.S.A with 106.9 million tons production ranks first in the world. U.S.A and Brazil are big exporters of soybean. Besides, China, Argentina, India, Paraguay, Canada, Indonesia, Bolivia, Uruguay, Vietnam, Thailand and South Africa are major soybean producing countries.

Ans 1: Olive is Mediterranean climatic region plant. It required dry hot climate in summer and moderate and little humid climate in winter. Olive oil is being used in edible oil from thousand years. It is used as medicine, making bath soap and in manufacturing textile.
Today, its cultivation plantation is at 85 million hectares area, while its annual production is 15.5 million metric tons. Spain is main producer of olive oil, while Italy, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Algeria, Lebanon, Portugal are main olive oil producing countries.

Ans 1: Balance diet is need of every human beings. While fats supply energy for human body. In the early stages of history, fats need was net by animal fat. Today, due to increasing population animal fat is not enough for all population. Therefore fat demand is fulfilled by edible oil resources. Edible oil supply fat but also they possesses proteins, vitamins and minerals.

Edible oils are used for manufacturing margarine and other products. Oils are also used for manufacturing soaps, insecticides, perfumes, medicines, and cosmetics etc.

In the world, how many percent of fat need is met by edible oils ?

Ans 1: Today, fat needs are increasing day by day. Natural or animal fat is not enough therefore more than 60 percent fat needs are met by edible oil resources. This need is increasing with the increase of population.
