Today, Pakistan is fourth largest cotton producing country in the world. Irrigated districts of Punjab and Sindh are major cotton producing areas in Pakistan. Punjab produces 73.6 percent while Sindh produces 25.6 percent cotton production of the Pakistan.

In the Punjab, central and southern districts, while northern district of Sindh are important for cotton cultivation, In the economy of Pakistan cotton plays a vital role because our more than 60 percent exports are met by cotton, cotton cloth and its fabrics.
