But in 1876 the British explores Sir Henry Wickham, smuggled them out of Brazil. He brought them to England, and planted them in Kew Garden in London. Only 2800 plants survived and were brought in South Asia to Ceylon and to Perak in Malaya (now Malaysia) in this way rubber plantation was prepared in Asia 1880 A.D after this rubber plantation was introduced in Indonesia and Thailand. In 1914, Southeast Asia became major area in rubber production and trade.
