Ans 1: Diffusion :
It is the movement of molecules from an area of higher concentration to an area of lowr concentraton, until they areevenly spread out. In organisms, the diffusion of molecules is of two types.
Passive Transport: It is themovement of molecules across a cell membrane from a hight o a low concentration, without using energy.
Active Transport: It is the movement of molecules across a cell membrane from a low concentraion to a hgih concentration, using energy.
Osmosis: It is the movement of water molecules through a semi-permeable membrane from a region of lower solute concentration to a region of highe solute concentration.

This adhesion helps water move upward inthe plant against gravigy. It also keeps water in the exylem when trnaspiation is not happening.

Ans 1: Oxidation reduction reactions are fundamental to the metabolism of organism .In these reactions, electrons are transferred between molecules. Inoxidation, molecule loses electrons and in reduction, it gains electrons.
Role:
This electron flow is essential for generating energy in the form of ATP during processes like cellular respiration and photosynthesis.

Difference between competitive and non competitive inhibition.

Ans 1: Competitive Inhibition:Some inhibitiors resemble the enxyme's substrate They compete with the substrate to attach to the active site of enxyme. Whe the inhibitor is attached to the active site. It blocks it and oes not allow the substrate to attach.Example:Examples of competitive inhibitors are antibioties. The antibiotic molecules compete with the substrates of bacterial enzymes. They attach to bacterial enzymes and inhibit them.
Ans 2: Non-Competivive inhibition : Some enxyme inhibitio do not have similarity to the substrate. They do not attach to the active site of enxyme. Rather they attach to some other location of enzyme. This attachement change sthe overall shape of enzyme and active site. so, this changed activ esite does not fit substrate and enxyme is inhibited Example: Heavy mtals like ercury and certain drugs used in cancer therapy.

v. They also engulf the damaged organelles and break them
vi. Lysosomes can store certain molecules for later use.

1. People who slept outdoors were more likely to get malaria than those who slept indoors.
2. People who slept under fine nets were less likely to get malaria than those who did not use such nets.
3. People who slept near a smoky fire usually did not get malaria. On the basis of these obserations King suggested a hypotheisi. "Mosquitoes transmit Plasmodium so are involved in the spread of malaria".

Ross, a British army physician working in India performed important experiment to confirm that mosqueito transmits plasmodium

A french physician Laveran in 1882 formulated followign hypothesis on the basis of malarial observatins.
