History of Lahore Board

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Lahore, also known as BISE Lahore is an examination board for intermediate and secondary examinations based in Lahore. It was established in 1954 and is considered one of the biggest boards in the country. Every year around 2 million candidates appear for the examinations conducted by BISE Lahore. BISE Lahore has the current jurisdiction over the districts Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, and Nankana Sahib. However, in 1954 at the time of its inception, it had a huge jurisdiction that spanned over provinces. It covered Punjab, Azad Kashmir, Baluchistan, and Northern Areas.

BISE Lahore is responsible for selecting the places where the exams would be held. Typically examinations are held twice a day once in the morning and then in the evening. Which allows the board to take exams of all the candidates more proficiently.
