The Old Man and the Sea is a short novel which is written by the American author Ernest Hemingway earlier in 1951 in Bimini, the Bahamas this short novel by an American was published in 1952.
This short story was the last major work of literature by Hemingway that was published during his time. One of his most renowned works, tells the story of Santiago, an aged Cuban fisherman who scraps along with a giant marlin far out in the Gulf Stream off the coast of Florida.
Earlier in 1953, The Old Man and the Sea was granted the Pulitzer Prize for works of fiction, and it was named by the Nobel Committee as contributing to their presentation of the Nobel Prize in Literature to Hemingway earlier in 1954.
