(i) The 32P isotopes of phosphorus has a half-life of 14.28 days. Find its decay constant.

(ii) State the laws governing the black body radiations. Also write their mathematical expressions.

(iii) Calculate the wavelength of X-rays. If energy of a photon emitted by the X-rays machine is 1.9878 × 10-13J.

(iv) Draw the circuit symbol of OR and AND gates and write truth Tables for two inputs.

(v) In an RLC circuit, the resistance (R) is 50 ohms, the inductance (L) is 0.1 H and the capacitance (C) is 50μF. Calculate its resonance frequency.

(vi) A galvanometer has a resistance of 50Ω and it gives full scale deflection at 4 mA. A voltmeter is made using this galvanometer by connecting a 5kΩ resistor in series. Calculate the maximum voltage that can be measured using this voltmeter.

(vii) A system undergoes a thermodynamic process where the pressure is kept constant at 15kPa. If the volume increases from 0.05m3 to 0.08m3 and the change in internal energy is 150 J. Calculate the heat added to the system.

(viii) What is the name of the EMF induced in a straight conductor moving with uniform velocity in a magnetic field?

(ix) Derive its mathematical expression Cp - Cv = R.

(x) State law of radioactive decay and write its mathematical expression.

(xi) How much heat will be required to raise the temperature of 1 kg of lead from 30°C to 105°C? (specific heat of lead = 0.128J/kg°C)

(xii) Define magnetic flux. Under what condition the magnetic flux will be maximum?

(xiii) Prove that the speed of a moving rod at which its relative length is equal to half of its proper length is √3c2.

(xiv) What is meant by LASER? Define metastable state OR population inversion.

(a) State the basic assumptions of kinetic molecular theory of gases. Derive the equation for pressure of an ideal gas, where P = 13ρv2 and ρ represents the density of the gas.

(b) State Ampere's law. Derive an expression for the magnetic field of induction 'B' due to current passing through a long Solenoid OR Toroid.

(a) What is photoelectric effect? Define the following terminologies *work function *stopping potential *threshold frequency and derive Einstein's photoelectric equation.

(b) What is Carnot Engine? Describe the process of a Carnot cycle and derive mathematical expression for its efficiency.

(a) Write the postulates of special theory of relativity. Explain any two of its results.

(b) What is a mass spectrograph? Explain its construction, principle and working. Derive its relevant mathematical expression.
