MBBS Merit List 2026: UHS, KMU, Sindh and NUMS Status

Which "2026" merit list do you mean?

This causes most of the confusion on this topic, so start here.

• Session 2025-26 lists. UHS issued these between late 2025 and February 2026, so many sites label them "2026." They are finished. You can read them for reference, but you can't apply to them.

• Session 2026-27 lists. These belong to this year's applicants, the students who sat MDCAT on 20 September 2026. They haven't been published.

Where the 2026-27 lists stand

How the lists come out, in order

1. Provisional merit list. Your first look. Check every detail, because objection windows can be very short. In one past Punjab cycle, candidates got 24 hours.

2. Final merit list. Published after corrections.

3. College-wise selection lists. UHS runs several, and in 2025-26 a third-party dataset counts 13 selection lists. Merit drops with each list as seats cascade down, so the first list's cut-off overstates the true closing merit.

4. Upgradation and vacant seats. Later lists let students move to a preferred college, and leftover seats are filled after that. If you searched "vacant seats", those come near the end.

Last cycle's closing merit: Punjab public colleges (open merit, 2025-26)

These are final-list figures compiled by a third-party dataset from UHS's last selection list. Verify with UHS.

Quota and self-finance seats tend to close a couple of points lower. Some sites publish lower figures because they show older cycles or approximate ranges, so don't mix numbers from different years.

KP: KMU's sixth placement round in February 2026 called candidates with aggregates from about 92.95 down to 92.38, which gives a rough sense of where public-college competition ended.

Colleges people search for

• King Edward Medical University: the highest closing merit in Punjab last cycle, and a public college admitted through UHS.

• Shahida Islam Medical College (Lodhran): private, on UHS's private-college list.

• Rawal Institute of Health Sciences (Islamabad): private, affiliated with SZABMU per a private-college guide.

• Fazaia Medical College (Islamabad): NUMS-administered. Only the NUMS MDCAT counts.

I found no reliable closing merit for these private and NUMS colleges, and I won't guess one.

Work out your merit

Merit % = (Matric × 0.10) + (FSc × 0.40) + (MDCAT × 0.50)

Example. Matric 95%, FSc 90%, MDCAT 88%: 9.5 + 36 + 44 = 89.5%.

To reach 94% with Matric 95% and FSc 90%, you would need about 97% in MDCAT. That is why KEMU-level seats are so hard, and why a strong backup list of colleges matters.

What to do the day a list appears

• Check the provisional list immediately, and file objections at once.

• Note the date and session on every list you read.

• Compare against last year's final closing merit, not the first list's.

• Prepare fee and documents in advance, because deadlines after selection are tight.
