BS Gender Studies Admission 2026 in Pakistan: Universities, Eligibility and How to Apply

BS Gender Studies is a four-year degree open to students with an intermediate qualification (FA, FSc, ICS, I.Com) or an equivalent. It is offered at public and private universities in Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Peshawar and other cities. Program names, minimum marks and merit rules differ by university. Many Fall 2026 deadlines have already passed, so check the table below before planning.

Older PU batches show different totals (133 or 136 credit hours), so always use the figure in your own session’s notice.

Universities offering BS Gender Studies

Lahore

Lahore has the widest choice: PU, UHE, UMT and LCWU. Compare them on merit rules, fees and whether the university is co-educational. For example, UMT is private and posted a Post BSc/BA notice on 12 October 2026.

Islamabad and Rawalpindi

QAU and Foundation University appear in Islamabad listings. Fatima Jinnah Women University in Rawalpindi lists a gender and development program. Check each portal for the current session.

Multan

BZU runs a gender studies department. It offers a 4-year BS and a 5th-semester BS.

Peshawar

The University of Peshawar offers Gender Studies. Its brochure holds the eligibility and seat details. The Fall 2026 deadline has passed, so watch for the next intake.

Faisalabad

A Government College Women University Faisalabad notice for session 2026–30 appears to list Gender Studies among its BS programs, but the PDF text is partly garbled. Confirm with the university.

Karachi and Quetta

We could not confirm a current BS Gender Studies admission notice in either city. Karachi University’s 2026 notice summary mentions Women’s Studies, so check that department’s page directly.

Eligibility

• You need an intermediate certificate (FA, FSc, ICS or I.Com) or an equivalent such as A-Levels.

• Minimum marks vary: 50% at UHE, 45% for BZU’s 5th-semester route. Read your target university’s notice.

• If you hold a BA, BSc or associate degree, ask about 5th-semester entry. PU offers a 5th-semester (2-year) BS and BZU does as well.

• Women’s universities admit female students only. Co-educational universities such as PU do not restrict by gender in their merit rules.

Merit and entry tests

Rules differ. PU’s department page says merit is calculated entirely from academic record, with 20 extra marks for Hafiz-e-Quran. Other universities may add a test or interview. Check how the previous year’s merit moved on our merit lists page.

How to apply

1. Open the university’s admission portal from the live table above.

2. Create an account and pick the BS Gender Studies program (check the exact program name).

3. Enter personal and academic details exactly as on your certificates.

4. Upload documents. Typical lists include CNIC or B-Form, matric and intermediate results and photographs, but confirm the list in your notice.

5. Pay the application fee through the method given in the notice.

6. Submit, save your tracking ID, and watch for merit lists.

Students awaiting results may qualify for provisional admission. For example, LCWU’s Fall 2026 Phase II admitted provisionally on first-year marks.

What you will study

PU’s scheme starts with a base in gender studies, English, computer skills and Pakistan Studies. Later courses cover gender and health, human rights, media, violence, crime and project cycle management. UHE’s 132 credit hours include 30 general, 72 major, 12 interdisciplinary and 12 minor credits, plus an internship and a capstone.

Careers after the degree

UMT lists UN agencies, academia, government and non-governmental development organizations as destinations. Roles include gender focal person in government departments. Outcomes depend on your skills, internships and research.

How to choose a university

• Compare the program name and curriculum, not only the university’s brand.

• Check seats and merit trends. PU’s morning program has few seats (65).

• Look for internship and fieldwork components.

• Apply to three to five programs and record each last date.
