BSIT Fee Structure in Pakistan

BSIT fees in Pakistan vary widely, and the number you see often means different things: a first-semester payment, a per-semester fee, a per-credit-hour rate, or a four-year package. Public universities usually charge much less than private ones, but shift, campus, batch and merit or self-supporting status all change the figure. The figures are not interchangeable: one is a first-semester total, others are first payments, and one is a four-year package. Compare like with like.

BSIT fees at Punjab University, University of Lahore and GC University

Punjab University (PU)

PU offers BS Information Technology in a morning program, and the morning fee is much lower than the evening or self-supporting fee. Published figures differ between sources, so use PU's current fee notice. University of Lahore (UOL)

The University of Lahore lists BSIT, and a BSCS-IT variant, on its program pages. I did not find a BSIT-specific fee figure on the official pages I reviewed, so ask the admission office for the current schedule and whether you are quoted per semester or per credit hour. GC University Lahore (GCU)

Government College University Lahore publishes fee notices and issues challans through its student portal, and its fees are revised periodically. Confirm that BSIT is offered in the intake you want, then check the latest official notice. See our GCU fee structure page.

Costs beyond tuition

• Admission and one-time charges. IIU, for example, lists Rs 16,500 in one-time charges, including a refundable library security of Rs 7,000.

• Application processing fee. Many universities charge one; GC University Lahore's recent notices report Rs 1,000 for BS programs .

• Test fees. If your university uses USAT or its own test, budget for registration. See the admissions page.

• Exam, lab and registration fees. These can sit outside the headline figure.

• Deadlines. After a merit list, the first fee may be due within days. MNS University of Agriculture's notices gave two to three days.

Scholarships and financial aid

Some universities offer partial or full tuition support. Riphah International University states that it offers financial assistance ranging from partial to full tuition coverage for deserving students. Reports say GC University Lahore announced a 60% scholarship for selected BS programs in Fall 2026; check whether BSIT is included [secondary source; editorial check]. Ask every university what the criteria are and whether the scholarship continues each semester.

How to compare BSIT fees in five steps

1. List the same quote type for each university (first-semester, per-semester, per credit hour or package).

2. Note the shift and seat type you can realistically get.

3. Add one-time and recurring extras.

4. Multiply by eight semesters, or use the university's total, and ask about expected increases.

5. Subtract scholarships you actually qualify for, and confirm them in writing.
