Lahore

Official pages confirm BSIT at Punjab University, UMT, Riphah, Minhaj University, The University of Lahore and NCBA&E (see the table above). Our Lahore list shows more institutes, and the Lahore admissions page shows which have open notices.

Karachi

Our Karachi list includes Bahria University Karachi, Hamdard University, Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Sindh Madressatul Islam University, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari, IOBM, Isra University, Preston University and NUST Karachi. Public, private and distance options

• Public universities generally charge lower tuition and select by merit and tests; seats are limited. Punjab University, for example, lists a morning program.

• Private universities usually charge more but may offer multiple intakes and flexible shifts. Always ask for the total package.

• Distance learning: Allama Iqbal Open University appears in our BSIT listings, and Virtual University is covered in our guides. Confirm HEC recognition and the current program before enrolling.

• Shorter routes: a 2-year program after an ADP (NCBA&E) and a 2.5-year program after 14 years of education (Institute of Southern Punjab) exist for eligible students.

Fees: how to compare the real cost

Semester fees alone mislead. Ask each university for the total program cost, the admission and registration fee, whether tuition is per semester or per credit hour, exam and lab charges, and any scholarship rules. Published figures also differ between sources. For example, Minhaj University's own page lists a total package of Rs 1,350,000 with Rs 32,000 at admission, while a directory fee table has listed a different total, so use the university's current figure.Compare options on the BSIT fee structure page.
