MBA Admission 2026–27 in Pakistan: Last Dates, Eligibility and How to Apply

Fall 2026 MBA admissions have closed at most major universities, so the main open windows now are IBA Karachi’s 2027 intake (Round 1 form deadline: 9 December 2026) and LUMS Fall 2027 (applications close 6 April 2027). A few smaller universities, including Sarhad (14 Oct) and Abasyn (16 Oct), close within days. Under HEC rules you need a 16-year bachelor’s degree and an entry test or GRE/HAT, with a 50% pass mark that universities can raise.

These come straight from the universities’ own pages.

IBA Karachi, MBA 2027-29 (one intake a year, classes from 23 August 2027):

IBA says more rounds may be added if seats remain. Apply at onlineadmission.iba.edu.pk.

LUMS MBA, Fall 2027 (Fall intake only; there is no Spring admission):

• Online application closes 6 April 2027, 5:00 PM, with documents and the application fee due 7 April.

• GMAT/GRE or the LUMS LGAT: around 18 April 2027 (tentative for the LGAT).

• Financial aid application: 6 May 2027.

• Interviews run May to July, and admissions finish around 30 July 2027.

• Abasyn University, Peshawar: 16 October 2026

• Riphah International University: 27 October 2026. Riphah’s own page lists application start dates but no end date, so check admissions.riphah.edu.pk.

Several other universities that advertised in late September, including Virtual University and the Universities of Education, Multan and Poonch, have already passed their last dates.

MBA eligibility: the HEC baseline

• A 16-year bachelor’s degree from an HEC-recognised institution.

• An entry test or GRE/HAT, with a 50% pass mark. Universities may set it higher.

• A degree not in business means a minimum of 2 years. A business degree (65% or more core business courses) can mean a minimum of 1.5 years.

Universities add their own conditions:

• IBA: 2.5 CGPA, at least 3 years’ post-qualification work experience, two referees, an interview, and either GMAT 600+, GRE 160 quantitative and 150 verbal, or the IBA Aptitude Test (GMAT and GRE scores must be under two years old).

• LUMS: 16 years of education plus GMAT, GRE General or LGAT. There is no minimum CGPA, and work experience is not required but preferred.

• University of Karachi (KUBS): at least 50% in the entrance test and 50% marks or a 2.5 CGPA in a 16-year degree. It runs a 1.5-year route for business graduates and a 2.5-year route for others.

How to apply for an MBA in Pakistan

1. Shortlist two or three universities and note their round or deadline, and whether they accept your degree stream.

2. Pick the test route. Many accept an entry test, GRE or HAT, while IBA and LUMS also take GMAT.

3. Collect your documents: degrees or transcripts, CNIC, photographs, and experience letters where needed.

4. Apply through the university’s own portal and pay the application fee, which is non-refundable at most universities.

5. Sit the test and interview, then pay the admission fee and complete orientation if required.

Fees

Fees vary widely and change by session, so check each notice. For a reference point, DUHS charged Rs. 70,000 tuition per semester in Fall 2026, while LUMS’s published Year 1 table totals Rs. 2,449,000 (labelled Fall 2026, so confirm the Fall 2027 figure).
