MBA Colleges and Universities in Pakistan (2026): List, Fees, Tests and Deadlines

Hundreds of HEC-recognised institutions offer an MBA in Pakistan. Eduvision's database counts 528 offering master's business administration programmes, so the list below is filterable by city, sector and duration. The top tier by international subject ranking is led by LUMS: QS 2026 names it the highest-ranked Pakistani institution in Business and Management. IBA Karachi and NUST are the other usual first names. The standard MBA is 2 years and at least 60 credit hours after 16 years of education. Many universities offer a shorter route for BBA (Hons) graduates. Entry usually means GAT (General), HAT, GMAT/GRE or the institute's own test, plus an interview at selective schools. As of 8 October 2026, the Fall 2026 rounds at LUMS and IBA have closed.

Picking an MBA programme in Pakistan comes down to four constraints: your degree, your budget, your city and your timeline. Everything on this page is organised around those four. How long is an MBA in Pakistan?

There isn't one answer, because your previous degree decides the route.

The 2-year MBA. HEC's programme structure sets the standard MBA at 2 years with a minimum of 60 credit hours after sixteen years of education. Graduates of 16-year programmes with unrelated degrees may be asked to take foundation courses first.

The 1.5-year MBA. Several universities shorten the programme for business graduates. The University of the Punjab's 1.5-year MBA (Gujranwala campus listing) requires a 4-year BBA (Hons) or equivalent, with 120 credit hours, and no third division in the whole career. NUML lists its 1.5-year MBA at 30 credit hours, open to BBA, BS Accounting & Finance, B.Com and similar degrees with a 2.0/4 CGPA.

The 3.5-year route. For 14-year graduates (BA/BCom/BSc), HEC's structure builds the MBA on a 2-year BBS followed by a 1.5-year MBA. Several universities still list 3.5-year MBA entries. 

The institutions most students shortlist first

These rows are verified against official or primary sources. They are not a ranking of "the best for you."

International rankings are one signal, not the whole story. LUMS is the top Pakistani institution in QS's 2026 Business and Management subject table, but the best-ranked school is not automatically the best fit for a working professional in Multan or a fresh BBA graduate watching fees.

Entry tests: which one do you need?

Most selective MBA programmes screen with a test, and a few run their own.

• GAT (General), run by NTS, is accepted at NUST and LUMS (alongside GMAT/GRE).

• HAT, run by HEC, is accepted at NUST at the same threshold.

• GMAT / GRE (General) are accepted at LUMS and NUST.

• Institute tests: IBA runs its own aptitude test, and LUMS has offered its own LGAT. LUMS ran the LGAT only once for Fall 2026 admissions, so don't assume it returns.

Not sure which one to take? Check your target university's admission page first. A GAT score that one university accepts may not count at another.

What an MBA really costs (and why quoted fees mislead)

Fee lists confuse people because the same number can mean three different things: per credit hour, per semester or the whole programme. Some large databases publish a fee column with no unit and zero-rupee entries, so treat unlabeled figures with suspicion.

Work out the real cost like this:

1. Find the credit hours (60+ for a 2-year MBA, around 30 for NUML's 1.5-year route).

2. Multiply by the per-credit-hour rate, or multiply the per-semester fee by the number of semesters.

3. Add one-time charges: admission fee, security deposit, registration.

4. Subtract any scholarship or financial aid you qualify for.

When to apply: the admission calendar

Big programmes recruit early. For Fall 2026, LUMS's online application deadline was 14 April 2026, with decisions on 31 July, and IBA tested on 26 April with a second round on 21 June. Those windows are closed now. The practical plan:

• Now to December: shortlist, check eligibility, book a GAT or GMAT slot if needed.

• January to March: gather transcripts and references, and watch for official announcements.

• April to July: peak application and test season for Fall 2027 at the major schools (based on this year's pattern; confirm each year).

How to choose, without the hype

• Verify HEC recognition on hec.gov.pk before you pay anything, especially for smaller private colleges.

• Look for accreditation. AACSB is the international marker, held in Pakistan by LUMS. Other accreditation bodies exist, so ask the university what it holds.

• Match the schedule to your life. Working professionals should look at evening, weekend and executive formats. LUMS's Executive MBA, for example, requires prior work experience.

• Compare total programme cost, not the sticker price of one semester.

• Read the eligibility fine print (CGPA floors, third-division rules, relevant-degree requirements) before you build your plan around a university.
