Pakistani students can now be part of the Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program

Islamabad: The students exchange programme of Japan Science and Technology Agency, entitled as “Sakura Exchange Program in Science”, has expanded to include Pakistan in its list of qualified countries.

The program organized every year and from now the aspirants from Pakistan will also be able to take part in it.

About Sakura Exchange Program in Science

The Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science is mainly a student exchange program. The program permits the aspirants of schools and universities from other countries, who specialize or wants to specialize in science and technology fields, to visit Japan as well as to experience the culture of this country.

The main objective of this program is to permit the aspirants living in countries which do not have access to state of the art labs and technology to understand it first hand in Japan. The outline of the exchange programme states:

Promoting science and technology is a key engine to emerge a bright future of Asia and it is enormously important to improve the exchange of youths in Asian countries and Japan who will play a vital role in the field of science and technology.

Recently Pakistan was also added to the list of countries eligible for the exchange program.

This could be an exceptional opportunity for the candidates who wish to learn more about their respective field of choice.

Eligibility Criteria and other Details

Eligibility criteria for the students is as follows:

1. The candidate should be in a high school, university or graduate school student
2. Postdoctoral researchers as well as teachers are also eligible to participate but the restriction is that they must be under years of age
3. They must have never stayed in or visited Japan before.
4. The educational institutes interested in the exchange program can apply between October-November 2016.
