Mechanical engineering is the prime category in engineering disciplines. The comprehension of scientific principles which are needed to design, analyze, manufacture, and operate mechanical systems are rendered in this course. Mechanical engineers have at least a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology.
Course Duration & Content:
Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering BE (Mech) is a 4-year program while postgraduate programs are also available.
Mechanical engineering programs usually include courses in mathematics, IT and physical sciences design and engineering. The study programs focus more on the practical application of engineering principles. Internships and field works are essential to get aware of the sites where they have to work.
The candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) Pre-Engineering Examination or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Annual Examination and have secured at least 60% marks from any recognized Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Pakistan or from recognized international boards are eligible to apply for admission. Candidates with international board have to submit an equivalency certificate from IBCC prior completing the admission formalities.
Candidates who have passed three years diploma from a recognized Board of Technical Education in Pakistan with at least 60% marks are also eligible to apply for admission under category ‘B’ in public universities.
Admissions will be advertised in the leading regional and national newspapers as well as on the University’s official websites
Candidates have to attend and pass an entrance test with at least 50% marks to seek admission in most of the engineering universities. This clause is varied for private institutions.
The final merit list of the candidates will be prepared by calculating the overall merit, based on the marks obtained in each of the following examinations, multiplying them with the respective weightage and adding the result to calculate the “Composite Percentage Number” (CPN).
An interview is conducted after the announcement of merit list.
Mechanical engineering requires the highest merit.
In government universities the course cost 25 thousand per year while the fee goes high in private universities as in some universities it could be 10 lac per year, depending on the ranking and facilities provided. Public universities also offer self -finance scheme.
These engineers are hired in almost every industry where machines are involved and power is generated. The salary is quite sufficient with good packages.
