LAT Preparation Academies and Test Centres in Pakistan

A LAT preparation academy is a private service you can choose to join. A LAT test centre is a venue where HEC’s Education Testing Council (ETC) holds the actual Law Admission Test. People often mix the two up, and this guide keeps them separate. It then helps you choose an academy by city and explains how test centres are assigned. If you are aiming for the next sitting, registration closes on 20 October 2026 , and the test is tentatively scheduled for 15 November 2026 . Dates were last reviewed on 13 October 2026. LAT preparation academy vs LAT test centre

HEC conducts the test, and as far as its published LAT notices show, it does not run or endorse a list of academies. If an academy describes itself as “HEC-approved,” ask for the document that says so. Only the ETC portal accepts LAT applications, so no academy can register you in its own right.

Do you need a LAT preparation academy?

Not necessarily. The syllabus is public, and past papers are widely available. Many candidates prepare alone with the LAT paper pattern and LAT past papers.Here is a point worth considering. Of the 100 marks, 75 come from MCQs and 25 from the essay and personal statement. The pass mark is 50 overall, with no separate pass mark per section. A candidate who scores 40 of 75 on MCQs would need 10 of the 25 writing marks to reach 50. The essay and personal statement are therefore where marks are most easily lost, and where outside feedback helps most.

An academy tends to help if you:

• need a fixed schedule and accountability;

• are weak in English or Urdu vocabulary;
• want someone to mark your essays and personal statements.

How to choose a LAT preparation academy

1. Match the schedule to your test date. Ask when classes start and end relative to the sitting you registered for.

2. Ask how writing is marked. You want feedback on essays and personal statements within the 200-word limit, not only MCQ drills.
3. Check the mock tests. They should be timed, cover all six MCQ subjects and the writing section, and come with explanations.
4. Ask who teaches, and take a trial class if offered. Judge the teaching, not the brochure.
5. Get the full cost in writing. Include fees, books, mock tests, the refund policy, and what happens if you move to a later sitting.
6. Be careful with guarantees. No academy controls your result. Statements like “100% success” or “HEC-approved” should come with evidence.
7. Compare online and in-person honestly. Online suits students without a nearby option; check recordings, internet needs and class size.
8. Look beyond testimonials. Ask former students directly or read independent reviews.

2. Ask local law colleges whether they run LAT classes or can recommend one.
3. Compare the schedule, total fee and mock-test format using the checklist above.

LAT test centres in Pakistan

HEC holds the LAT in major cities across Pakistan. You choose your preferred test centre during registration, and you cannot change it after submitting your application. HEC may assign candidates to another city or centre if fewer than 250 applicants choose a location, so favour a major city and always check your roll number slip.Third-party guides commonly list centres in Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Faisalabad, Multan, Hyderabad and other cities. HEC’s registration page shows the current options.

On test day:

• Bring a printed roll number slip and your original CNIC or passport.

• If you’re under 18, bring your original B-Form or NADRA Juvenile Card plus the original SSC or HSSC certificate with your photograph.
• Leave mobile phones, calculators and other electronic devices outside the centre.
• Don’t photograph or share question papers.

You can download your slip from the ETC portal, and HEC says it is also emailed about a week before the test, so give a valid email and mobile number at registration.

A four-week plan for the 15 November sitting

This plan is suggested, not official. It weights time by marks: General Knowledge and English carry 20 marks each, and the two written pieces carry 25 combined.

• Week 1: Attempt one past paper to find weak areas. Learn the pattern and word limits.
• Weeks 2–3: Study subject blocks. Revise English synonyms, antonyms and prepositions daily. Read current affairs for General Knowledge. Write at least two essays and one personal statement per week within 200 words, and have someone read them.
• Week 4: Sit full timed mock papers and review every mistake. Prepare your documents and roll slip.
