HEC LAT Registration 2026: Last Date, Fee and Step-by-Step Online Process

HEC LAT registration for the final Law Admission Test of 2026 closes on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, at midnight. The test is tentatively set for Sunday, 15 November 2026. You can apply only through the official ETC portal at etc.hec.gov.pk, and an application counts only once you submit it. Applications left in saved status are not considered.

Who Can Apply for the LAT

You can register if you have passed HSSC or an equivalent 12-year qualification. You can also register if you have appeared in your final HSSC exams and are awaiting results. Candidates who have already qualified in the LAT may sit it again to improve their score for merit-based admission to public-sector institutions. What to Keep Ready Before You Start

• Your CNIC, or B-Form if you are under 18. It must be your own.
• An email address and mobile number you actively use. HEC sends slip alerts there.
• Your matric and intermediate details.
• A phone or ATM that can pay a 1Bill invoice.
• Your preferred test city.

How to Complete LAT Online Registration 2026

Create your ETC account

Go to etc.hec.gov.pk and sign up with your own CNIC or B-Form number, email, and mobile number. If the portal gives you trouble, HEC points applicants to onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk.

Complete your profile

Fill in your personal and academic details under My Profile. Check your name, CNIC number, and mobile number carefully. A mismatch with your original CNIC can stop you from sitting the test.

Choose the Law Admission Test and a test centre

Open the Law Admission Test option and pick a centre from the list. You cannot change the centre after submission.

Submit the application

Press submit. A profile that is filled in but not submitted will not be considered.

Pay the fee

The portal generates a consumer number. Pay it through 1Link/1Bill, the same way you would pay a utility bill from a banking app or ATM.

Verify your payment

After paying, select Verify Online Payment on your ETC dashboard. Keep your payment receipt and a copy of your application until admissions are done.

LAT Test Fee

The LAT fee was Rs. 1,800 in recent cycles, and the portal shows the amount when it generates your consumer number. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Fee history is on the LAT fee structure page.

Mistakes That Can Cost You the Test

• Leaving the application in saved mode.

• Registering with a parent’s, sibling’s, or relative’s CNIC. This is strictly prohibited, and such candidates are not allowed into the centre.
• A name or CNIC that does not match your original document.
• Raising problems after the portal closes. HEC does not handle complaints after the deadline.
• Expecting a centre change. HEC may move you only if fewer than 250 candidates choose your city.

After Registration: Slip and Exam-Day Rules

Download your roll number slip from the ETC portal. HEC also emails it and sends an SMS, though SMS may not reach numbers moved between networks, so rely on email. On test day, bring:

• A printed roll number slip.
• Your original CNIC or passport.
• If you are under 18, your original B-Form or NADRA Juvenile Card, plus your original SSC or HSSC certificate with your photograph.

Phones, calculators, and recording or imaging devices are not allowed inside the centre. Photographing or sharing the question booklet can lead to penalties.
