Islamabad, Quaid-i-Azam University QAU has decided to eliminate the GAT NAT test for admission in postgraduate programs. From now the university will conduct its own test and tests organized by National Testing Service NTS will not be acceptable. The university administration has finally taken this step and notified that National Aptitude Test (NAT) and Graduate Assessment Test (GAT) will be abolished from next semester for MS, MPhil and PhD admissions.
The decision was taken in a meeting of University Advance Studies which was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Aitzaz Ahmed. He said that every department of the university is independent and has authority to organize entrance tests at any level.
Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad was established in July 1967 as University of Islamabad. It was first started teaching in a rented building and shifted to permanent campus in 1971. In 1976, the university was renamed as “Quaid-i-Azam University” on the century celebration event of Quaid-i-Azam. The university is one of the best universities of the Pakistan and has qualified teaching faculty.
