The summer break has been announced by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) administration for all public and private colleges, universities and higher institutions in the province.
Other official news reported on Friday that schools in hot zones will not open until August 15. Institutions in winter places generally have a shorter pause from July 1 to July 31.
The Higher Education, Archives and Libraries Department has released the notification which concerns all colleges and universities in the province, including private and public ones.
Nevertheless, instruction and examinations for students in BS (4-year) and associate degree program will proceed, according to the approved academic calendar.
The provincial government sent the notification to the Governor, Chief Minister, administrative secretaries, vice-chancellors of universities, the Higher Education Regulatory Authority and other important bodies.
The decision is made as temperatures in the province rise, so that students and personnel are protected and comfortable.
