The monthly stipend given to school heads in the Punjab Education Department has been increased from Rs 500 to Rs 10,000. There is a 1,900% increase from the previous estimate.
Besides giving a raise, the department is adopting merit as a basis for selecting students. If you want to apply for a head of department position, you will have to pass a written test and then an interview. Revised rules allow both senior and junior teachers to become eligible for the job.
Set Up Allowance According to the Level of School
The policy update creates a progressive increase in allowances.

Primary and Middle School Heads will get Rs 7,500 each month.

Rs 10,000 will be given to the Head of each High and Higher Secondary School every month.

This reform tries to give different rewards depending on if a school is public or private and who is in charge.
Recruitment Timeline
Officials plan to hold the written examination in July or August 2025 and they expect to conduct interviews before the beginning of the summer break. Both successful candidates from each phase will be picked as school heads.
