Islamabad: The International Islamic University (IIU) has been placed in the 'W' category by the Quality Assurance Agency of the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan.

As per the letter issued by the commission, the 'internal quality' of the International Islamic University was assessed through a score card system in which the university obtained 87.67% marks and was placed in the 'W' category.

This score is the highest score so for obtained by the varsity since the establishment of its QEC.

The higher education commission has appreciated the efforts of rector of IIU Prof Masoom Yasinzai and President Prof Ahmed Yousif Al Draiweesh, as well as the performance of the QEC of university.

Both the rector and president thanked the commission for continuous support to the degree awarding institutes to enhance the quality of education at both graduate and undergraduate levels.

At the same time, IIU President Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh said the cooperation of commission was commendable, whereas the university is not just focusing on Islamic specializations but also on scientific disciplines along with an emphasis to produce youth having Islamic knowledge and contemporary education.

On the other hand, Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) has secured the top ‘W’ ranking by obtaining 86.47% marks assessed and determined by Quality Assurance Agency of HEC, Pakistan.

The regulatory authority checks the academic activities of the universities in Pakistan, said official sources.
