It is a known fact that students all over the world make a power called "students power". They have the power which can resist any big power, even if it is military power. This power of students make them demand their right easily or fight for the right easily. But there is a great problem. Students are mostly of age 17 to 24. At this age they are called youth. Youth is the age of life when a man is very delicate and very emotional. This is the age when a man choose a path or feild to follow for the rest of life. His mind can easily be altered towards anything. It means that someone can use or ab-use him. Students are like oxygen which requires a spark to burn.

If we look in our past, we will find alot of big events caused by students. You will know the answers to: How did Pakistan came into being? What was the secret of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah? How can he bring freedom to muslims? Why can't we do that? What was so special about Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah?

Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah was one of those who knew how powerful is students power. He had a very good policy of taking control of students emotions. He used students for the good job of providing Muslims with a free state. Students helped him at their best. They were emotional and were able to fullfill their demands. Students were the ones who made Pakistan come into being. If Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad AIi Jinnah had got no support from students, today there would be no Pakistan. Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah thanked and appreciated the students in his speeches after freedom. He was confident about his job and said, "There is no power on earth that can undo Pakistan. " because he knew that students power is supporting him.

On 23rd march 1943, a message from him to Pakistan day: "I particularly appeal to our intelligentsia and Muslim students to come forward and rise to the occasion. You have performed wonders in the past. You are still capable of repeating the history. You are not lacking in the great qualities and virtues in comparison with the other nations. Only you have to be fully conscious of that fact and to act with courage, faith and unity".

On 2nd march 1941, Predisential Address delivered by him at the Special Pakistan Session of the Punjab Muslim Students Federation: “The vital contest in which we are engaged is not only for the material gain but also the very existence of the soul of Muslim nation, Hence I have said often that it is a matter of life and death to the Musalmans and is not a counter for bargaining.”

In his last speeches he told the students the reality about them, that they are the future of a nation (Pakistan) they are the ones who can give raise to a nation ad develop a nation. He also warned them from going into the politics. Because he knew that someone can missuse them. He advised them to concentrate on their studies and keep away from politics.

Let's see some other great events of history of world. In China (1989), thousands of students began massing, day after day, in Tiananmen Square. They had no single program, and no really unified leadership. But as young, educated people, they were well aware that the growing ‘miracle’ of China’s economic liberalization was not being matched by any great relaxation of CP political and social controls. They also noticed that, although economic reforms had brought material benefits to many peasants and industrial workers, those in white-collar jobs (which most of the students would soon be in themselves) were being held back in relative economic terms. The students wanted more political freedom; and they wanted to benefit from a bigger slice of China’s booming economy. The demonstrating students did not want a complete revolution. They wanted reform; and they thought that they could win this via polite argument with the CP leadership. The Tiananmen demonstrations were peaceful. The students had no arms, no possible weapons of any sort apart from banners.News of the Tiananmen protests spread across China and to the outside world. Similar protests started in as many as 400 other Chinese cities and towns, with students and workers joining to demand reforms. The numbers in Tiananmen each day grew to over 100,000 protesters. About 1,000 students went on hunger strike, demanding that the government respond to their calls for reform. This protest turned into massacre and till now it is unfforgettable and a blot on China. Till now this massacre is being discussed in parliment of China.

Now after knowing alot about students reall power, let's talk about their involvement in politics. Nowadays, in Pakistan the politicians have known the power of the students. They are trying to take over the students and control their power. When a student is independent of a political party, he has got his power with him. He can freely use it according to is will. But when he joins a political party (wether good or bad) he hands over his power to the chairman of the political party. He has now become a pawn of the chess; which is controlled by the will of the chairman. Nowadays I have seen that each and every party is trying to get their control over students power. They open offices infront of colleges and universities and register students with them in their party. They are then used for personal matters by the party.

The whole process goes in this way, first students are pulled into politics, and now they are becoming the victim of terrorism. Terrorists are targetting colleges and universities these days. Students are being destroyed in Pakistan. Pakistan's future is being destroyed. Students are deviated. Students are missused. Some push them into the dungeon of politics while some push them into dungeon of terrorism.
