Dengue Fever and Blood Donation in Pakistan

Pakistani students are always ready to donate their blood to the patients any time. You would find daily many people came into student hostels to request students for donating blood for their love ones and I've never seen any person yet in my student life that a person came back from Punjab University hostels without a blood donator with him. Now days as there are lots of dengue patients are admitted in Lahore and nearly all the patients in hospitals requires white cells.

There is huge rush in the blood banks of hospitals where daily lots of young boys and girls donate their blood for the dengue patients. I've personally visited few hospitals to check the situation of hospitals and I am quite surprised and happy also when I've seen lots of students waiting in the blood banks to donate blood to different patients. You can't believe that many students have to wait for a lot time due to heavy rush in the hospitals. But one thing that attracted my attention that the people from outside the Lahore are facing lots of problems for getting blood because they have no relations in the city.

Punjab government is doing very well to cope with the dengue virus and there are lots of good steps were taken to abolish the dengue virus from the country. One step to save the students from the dengue mosquito is taken that school, colleges and universities were closed for one week and all the students were ordered to go home who lives in the hostels also. This is actually a good step to spray the colleges and universities but due to the closure of hostels lots of people faced problems due to blood donation. All the students of Punjab University hostels were sent to their homes and you can say that the a big source of blood donators is the Punjab University hostel is closed now people are wondering here and there in search of blood for their love ones.

I would like to discuss the role of blood donation NGO's that should not play their role effectively. Blood donation agencies and NGO's should come forward in the occasion to provide the blood to the dengue patients at hospitals but there are no NGO came in the field for this noble cause. These NGO's should establish the blood donation campus in the colleges and universities and other prominent places to encourage people to get blood for the patients and after getting the blood they should provide blood to the patients at hospitals. But sorry to say that our individual behavior is quite good but the collectively we all forget this aspect and due to this people has to face lots of problems for searching blood. I've personally saw a women weeping for blood to her minor daughter. We've provide blood to her but there are lots of patients like that who are waiting for blood.

Note: Dear students here I request you all to share your cell numbers with your blood group and city at in the comments so that needy people can connect you for blood donation. I would like to tell you one more thing that there is no problem in donating blood. You will not feel any kind of health problem after donating blood. So please share your information here and never ever hesitate to donate blood to anyone.
