The District Education Authorities have given directives that precaution be taken in making sure that zebra crossings are made in front of every school. Installation of such crossings will now be under the care of school heads.
Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) President Kashif Shehzad has said that those school heads who will not follow the directive will be dealt with. Nonetheless, the responsibility of accommodating the LGBT + group was also an issue of the union with respect to being burdened to the teachers and school administrations.
Kashif Shehzad asked: Is this the duty of the teachers to grapple with such tasks which should otherwise be done by another department? When TEPA and other authorities of interest fail to execute their functions then they ought to be closed. He asked the Punjab Education Minister to observe the issue.
