Position Overview:

NICL is inviting qualified candidates to apply for the role of Shariah Advisor on a contractual basis. The advisor will provide expert guidance on Window Takaful Operations (WTO) and assist in the transition towards a full Takaful model. The position requires a strong background in Islamic commercial jurisprudence and experience in Shariah compliance in financial services.

Eligibility Criteria:

Qualification:

• Option 1: Shahadat-ul-Aalamiyyah Degree (Dars-e-Nizami) from a recognized Madaris board with 70% marks, along with a Bachelor's degree (recognized by HEC) with at least a 2nd Class. Must have at least 4 years' experience in providing Shariah rulings in Figh-ul-Muamulat (Islamic commercial jurisprudence), including the period of Takhasus fil Ifta.

• Option 2: Postgraduate degree in Kuliyyatush Shariah, LLM (Shariah), MS Shariah, or equivalent with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or equivalent, from an HEC-recognized institution.

Work Experience:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in issuing Shariah rulings in Figh (preferably Figh-ul-Muamulat), including the period of Takhasus fil Ifta.

• OR at least 5 years of experience in teaching, research, or training in Islamic financial services.

• OR at least 5 years of experience in a relevant department of an institution offering Islamic financial services.

• OR at least 5 years of experience in a regulatory body in banking, securities, or insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Shariah Advisory:

   • Provide expert guidance on Window Takaful Operations (WTO) and the transition to the Takaful model.

   • Ensure all operations, investments, contracts, and agreements comply with Shariah principles.

2. Shariah Compliance & Development:

   • Oversee compliance with SECP regulations and ensure adherence to Takaful Rules 2012 and future frameworks.

   • Assist in the development of Shariah-compliant products, policies, and procedures.

3. Training & Awareness:

   • Conduct training sessions for employees, management, and stakeholders on Takaful and Shariah matters.

4. Reinsurance & Takaful Operations:

   • Provide Shariah rulings and technical advice regarding Re-Takaful and direct Takaful operations.

5. Regulatory Supervision:

   • Ensure compliance with the Takaful Rules 2012 and other applicable regulations for transitioning to full-fledged Takaful operations.

6. Other Duties:

   • Any other tasks as assigned by the competent authority.

Terms and Conditions:

• Contract Duration: 2 years, extendable based on performance and company requirements.

• Compensation: A fixed monthly fee, negotiable based on qualifications and experience.

• Age Limit: Maximum age of 55 years as of the application deadline.

• Travel Requirements: Subject to approval by the competent authority.

Important Notes:

1. Merit-based Selection: All candidates will be selected strictly based on merit as per the Takaful Rules 2012 and SECP regulations.

2. Documentation: Original academic and professional documents must be presented at the time of the interview.

3. No TA/DA: No travel or daily allowance will be provided for the interview.

4. Termination of Hiring Process: NICL reserves the right to terminate the recruitment process at any stage without assigning reasons.
