?? Position 1: Product Facilitation Unit Officer (PFUO)

Job Grade: OG-II / OG-I
Department: Shariah Compliance Department
Location: Karachi

Educational Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a HEC-recognized local or international university/institute.

Preference will be given to candidates with:

Master’s in Islamic Banking/Finance

ACCA / CA (Part Qualified)

CIPA, Islamic Finance Diplomas, or Specializations in Fiqh-ul-Muamlat

Experience Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience in Islamic Financial Institutions.

Hands-on experience in areas such as:

Shariah Compliance

Product Development

Shariah Advisory

Required Skills & Expertise

Strong understanding of Shariah Law as applied to Banking and Commerce.

Familiarity with regulations issued by SBP from time to time.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, content writing, and Shariah research.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in evaluating proposals, contracts, agreements, manuals, process flows, checklists, and other documents.

Review Credit Approval Memorandums (CAMs) for final endorsement by Head of Shariah Compliance.

Analyze process flows of products and services to ensure Shariah compliance.

Review policies, operational manuals, legal documents, and system-related processes.

Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure proper documentation.

Assess conversion-related documents and support the business team in field assessments.

Coordinate and conduct meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

?? Position 2: Shariah Compliance Officer (SCO)

Job Grade: OG-II / OG-I
Reporting to: Head of Shariah Compliance Department
Location: Karachi

Educational Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a HEC-recognized local or international institute.

Preference for candidates with:

Master’s in Islamic Banking/Finance

ACCA / CA (Part Qualified)

CIPA or other Islamic Finance Certifications

Experience Requirements

At least 2 years of overall banking experience, with a minimum of 1 year in Islamic Financial Institutions.

Practical exposure in Shariah Advisory or Shariah Compliance roles.

Required Skills & Expertise

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, content writing, and document drafting.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.

In-depth knowledge of Shariah principles, banking practices, and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure operational compliance with Fatawa and Shariah guidelines.

Review Credit Approval Memos (CAMs) for final sign-off.

Respond to Shariah-related queries from branches and departments.

Review Shariah Compliance Reports and ensure rectification follow-ups.

Assist in developing a comprehensive Shariah Compliance Framework.

Conduct internal Shariah control reviews and periodic reporting.

Review and comment on process flows, product policies, profit & loss pools, and IT UATs.

Participate in internal/external meetings regarding product structuring, system changes, and training initiatives.

Provide Islamic Banking training for relevant staff.

Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Head of Department.

Contractual – initially for three years, renewable based on performance and management discretion.
