Job Announcement: Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC)

The Ministry of National Food Security & Research, Government of Pakistan, is seeking dynamic and eminent Agricultural Scientists / Research Managers for senior leadership positions within PARC. The council is looking for individuals with proven experience in strategic planning, research policy formulation, and agricultural research management.

Position Details

Whole-Time Members (MP-II Scale)

  • Vacancies:

    • Member (Natural Resources) — 01 Post

    • Member (Animal Sciences) — 01 Post

Academic Qualifications & Experience Criteria

  • Education: Ph.D. in the relevant discipline from an HEC-recognized university.

  • Academic Record: Must have a First Division OR a CGPA of 3.00 or higher in the highest degree. No more than one Second Division or Grade C is allowed throughout the entire academic career.

  • Experience: Minimum of 20 years of proven R&D experience in recognized research institutions or higher learning organizations (public or private sector). This must include experience managing a multidisciplinary group of scientists and researchers.

  • Publications: At least 15 research publications in HEC-recognized peer-reviewed journals or books.

  • Core Competencies:

    • Demonstrated leadership in strategic planning and agricultural research program management.

    • Proven ability to effectively mobilize and utilize financial and human resources.

    • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

General Conditions & Requirements

  • Nationality: Must be a Pakistani citizen. Dual nationality holders are ineligible.

  • Age Limit: Maximum 62 years (as per the Management Position Scales Policy-2020, as amended).

  • Tenure: Initially for a period of three (3) years, extendable for a maximum of two additional years on an annual basis, subject to satisfactory performance.

  • Government Servants: If a civil/government servant is selected, they must either resign or take early retirement—completely severing connections/liens with their parent cadre/ministry—before joining the MP Scale position.
