SITUATIONS VACANT

The Ministry of National Food Security & Research invites applications from dynamic, experienced, and eminent Agricultural Scientists for appointment to the following senior position:

Chairman, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC)

Pay Package & Appointment Terms

  • The Chairman, PARC shall be appointed by the President of Pakistan under the provisions of the PARC Ordinance, 1981.

  • The appointment will be made on a contract / tenure basis under MP-I Scale.

  • The pay package and other terms & conditions shall be aligned with applicable government benchmarks (MP Scale / analogous statutory positions) and finalized subject to approval by the competent authority (President of Pakistan).

Qualification & Experience

  1. An eminent scientist associated with agricultural research, possessing demonstrated leadership in strategic planning, implementation, and management of multi-disciplinary agricultural research programs.

  2. PhD in Agriculture or related sciences from an HEC-recognized university.

  3. A minimum of 25 years of proven experience in R&D organizations, recognized research institutions, or higher learning institutions in the public or private sector, including experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams of scientists and researchers.

Research Publications

  • Minimum 17 research publications in HEC-recognized refereed journals and/or books.

Other Requirements

  1. Demonstrated ability to mobilize, manage, and utilize financial and human resources effectively.

  2. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Age Limit

  • Minimum: 45 years

  • Maximum: 62 years
    (Age will be calculated as of the closing date for submission of applications.)

Period of Contract / Tenure

  • Initially for a period of three (03) years, extendable for a maximum period of two (02) additional years on an annual basis, subject to satisfactory performance.

Job Description

  1. The Chairman shall serve as the Chief Executive of the Council.

  2. The Chairman shall exercise powers and perform functions as assigned under Section-9 of the PARC Ordinance, 1981.

  3. The Chairman may delegate powers, functions, or duties to members, officers, or employees of the Council to ensure efficient functioning and smooth day-to-day operations.
