Career Opportunity

Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL), a leading 'AAA' rated specialized financial institution with an extensive branch network of over 500 offices across Pakistan, invites applications from dynamic, goal-oriented, and experienced professionals for the following contractual position:

Position Title:

Head of Legal (SVP/EVP Level)
Number of Position(s): 1
Employment Type: Contractual (Initial 5 years – extendable based on performance)

Key Job Responsibilities:

Identify and assess legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Ensure preparation, accuracy, and execution of all legal documentation required by the bank.
Analyze superior court decisions, especially those relevant to ZTBL, and propose corresponding policy changes to management.
Oversee implementation of SBP, SECP, and prudential regulations applicable to the legal function.
Exercise administrative control and supervision over 31 Legal Litigation Units (LLUs) across the country.
Manage and pursue litigation nationwide across various domains including:
- Statutory law
- Corporate law
- Business law
- Tax law
- Service matters
Ensure maintenance of an up-to-date compendium of banking laws for easy reference and guidance of stakeholders.
Monitor and evaluate new legislation, laws, and court judgments relevant to the banking sector.
Lead and manage legal teams with strong interpretation, analytical, and drafting skills.
Ensure timely compliance with tasks and directives issued by bank management.
Perform any other assignment as directed by ZTBL management.

Qualification Requirements:

Minimum Education: LLB Degree from an HEC-recognized university/institute.
Preferred: Additional legal or management certifications will be an asset.

Experience Requirements:

Total Experience: Minimum 15 years of legal practice.
Banking/Financial Institutions Experience: At least 10 years.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates dismissed, terminated, or retired on disciplinary grounds from any previous organization are not eligible to apply.
Candidates convicted by any court of law are not eligible to apply.
Age limit: Maximum 55 years as of the closing date to apply.

Remuneration & Terms:

Contract Period: Initially 5 years (extendable based on performance).
Compensation: Market competitive salary and benefits package.
