Position Details:
Job Title: Compliance Officer, NBP EPZ (OBU), Karachi
Grade: OG-I / AVP
Location: Karachi
Reporting To:
Functional: Divisional Head – International Compliance Division
Administrative: Branch Manager
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational / Professional Qualification:
Minimum Graduation or equivalent from a local or international HEC-recognized institute/university.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
Master’s degree
Relevant professional certifications
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant banking experience
Strong:
Communication and interpersonal skills
Analytical abilities
Proficiency in MS Office
Sound understanding of:
Banking operations
SBP regulations
Banking laws
Key Skills and Competencies:
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines
Strong team player, goal-oriented, and result-driven
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure overall compliance of the branch with all internal/external regulatory requirements
Implement and follow compliance policies and procedures
Ensure timely submission of regulatory reports and returns
Liaise with SBP, internal/external auditors, and Head Office
Monitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance
Address and resolve compliance issues at the branch level
Escalate issues to Senior Management and Head Office
Report breaches found during inspections/audits
Identify gaps in processes via risk-based testing and ensure corrective actions
Prepare the branch’s Internal Risk Assessment Report (IRAR)
Develop, update, and implement the Branch Compliance Program
Monitor and report Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)
Respond to Head Office compliance queries and reports in a timely manner
Report cross-border compliance conflicts to Head Office
Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors
Assessment Process:
Only shortlisted candidates who meet the basic eligibility criteria will be called for a test and/or panel interview.
Employment Type:
Contractual basis for 3 years, renewable at the discretion of management
Selected candidates will receive a compensation package and benefits as per the Bank’s policy
