Position Title:

Chairman, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC)
Pay Scale: MP-I (Contract Basis)

Job Overview:

The Ministry of National Food Security & Research is seeking a dynamic and visionary Agriculture Scientist to lead the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC). The selected individual will be responsible for advancing agricultural research, promoting global partnerships, and steering the institution toward excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for national agricultural research programs.

  • Strengthen collaboration with provincial governments and private sector stakeholders.

  • Mobilize and manage financial and human resources efficiently.

  • Represent PARC at national and international forums.

  • Promote innovation and excellence in multidisciplinary agricultural research.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Academic Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in Agriculture, Allied Sciences, or a relevant discipline from a globally recognized university.

2. Experience:

  • Minimum 20 years of proven experience in Agricultural Research and Development.

  • Must include:

    • Leadership in managing multidisciplinary scientific teams.

    • Administrative experience in a reputed public/private research organization.

    • A strong portfolio of publications in renowned research journals.

3. Age Limit:

  • Maximum age: 62 years

4. Nationality:

  • Must be a Pakistani citizen

Tenure of Appointment:

  • Three (03) years contract under MP-I Scale.

Required Competencies:

  • Strategic planning and management of complex research programs.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Capability to develop international research alliances.

  • Knowledge of PARC's mandate (available at: www.parc.gov.pk).
