DND Universities in Pakistan: Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad (2026)

Universities offering DND or BS HND in Pakistan include, in Lahore, UVAS, the University of Home Economics, Riphah, UBAS and UMT; in Karachi, Ziauddin, Salim Habib University and Jinnah University for Women; and in Islamabad, NUMS and Riphah. Programme names and durations differ: UVAS's programme page describes a five-year DND, TUF offers a 10-semester DDNS, and most others offer a four-year BS in Human Nutrition & Dietetics. There is no official ranking, so choose by recognition, hospital training, duration and postgraduate options.

Look at the prospectuses and you'll find the same field under four names. UVAS describes a Doctor of Nutrition & Dietetics (DND). TUF calls its version the Doctor of Dietetics and Nutritional Sciences (DDNS). Most other universities offer a four-year BS in Human Nutrition & Dietetics (BS HND). DND universities in Lahore

Lahore has the widest choice. UVAS offers both morning and evening sections on its Lahore campus. The University of Home Economics has the longest history in the field and a full postgraduate ladder. Riphah has a Gulberg campus, and UBAS and UMT add private-sector options. Fees and merit differ sharply, so compare them on our fee page.

DND universities in Karachi

Ziauddin has a dedicated College of Human Nutrition & Dietetics and runs BS, MS and PhD tracks. Salim Habib University and Jinnah University for Women also offer BS HND. We couldn't verify a 2026 notice from a public-sector university in the city, and we'll update this section as we do.

DND universities in Islamabad

NUMS is the main option, with an online test and merit list each Fall. Riphah's Gulberg Green campus is the other, with Fall and Spring intakes. Check current admissions and eligibility.

Which is the best university for DND?

No official ranking exists for this field, and any "best" claim from a single university is promotion. Compare on these points instead:

1. Recognition. Confirm the programme is HEC-recognised and ask which registration route its graduates use.

2. Hospital training. Clinical rotations are what separate a strong programme from a weak one.

3. Degree title and duration. Know whether you'll hold a 5-year DND or a 4-year BS HND.

4. Postgraduate ladder. UHE, Ziauddin, UBAS, TUF and NUMS offer MS, MPhil or PhD routes.

5. Cost and merit. Public universities like UVAS run competitive merit lists, while private ones charge more.

6. Campus fit. Riphah's separate male and female campuses may matter to some families.
