Freedom is very right of every human being, he can go beyond his power to prove it, as a result wars are fought, and sacrifices are made, craving the new names on the map of world. It is not just a feeling rather it is a phenomenon “the basic foundation of human life” Unintentionally we fight many battles in our daily life to prove our identity and for the sake of our freedom. We struggle very hard in our offices to prove our self, just not for a better life style but for our liberty. We do not want to take any favors from others which put us under their thumbs.
It has been observed, in many cases where a worker is roughly treated by his boss, he quickly loses his self-esteem as he is not allowed to raise a voice against it. Pressure builds and anxiety growl inside his chest. Freedom of speech has been snatched from today’s man. We rumble, protest, frustrate but cannot venture out our anger on proper person and end up fighting on roads, busses, homes and even in parks.
Now a day’s everyone is in hurry, wants to secure his future, trying to accomplish giant expenses of being alive in this price souring age. So he obliged to do whatsoever his boss commands to do. As job opportunities are shrinking due to energy crisis, corruption, foreign intrusion and list goes on and on. People take a sigh of relief when they get hired even on very low wages and conditions against human rights. Violations of workers’ rights are very common in Pakistan as it is the matter of least attention.
The word “right” has been very foreign to our workers specially labor category. They toil day and night endlessly and quite satisfy on being employed as employers have already enough resumes in their databases to fill the vacancy of strong headed employees who talk about rights. If someone get tired of being frayed, snubbed by his employer and quit. Our society labeled him coward and irresponsible. A few companies are respecting the rights of employees and they all are multinationals as west is adopting our ways of ruling. So what a person should do in order to protect his freedom? Raise a voice and lose his job? Or fight?
There is an old saying “fight for your right until death swallows you” May be we are just looking at the one side of the picture, might be other side is not as negative as first side. If you observe, in our society brave, outspoken, witty leaders couldn’t found since some last decades. Overall we are developing a weak nation unable to raise voice against all odds, self-centered, neutral. Don’t blame America or others we are ourselves responsible for this, we are no more 1965 brave people who could sacrifice their belongings to save their country who were patriotic and knew what freedom is?
