Punjab Education Board Revises Certificate Verification Fees

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Sargodha has announced a significant revision to its fee structure for various certificate verification and related services. This decision, aimed at streamlining administrative processes and aligning with contemporary operational needs, became effective immediately following its approval by the Board of Governors (BoG) on June 26, 2025.

The official notification detailing these changes was issued by Controller of Examinations, Riaz Qadeer, on Thursday, July 10, 2025. This adjustment impacts a wide range of services, from individual certificate verifications to the issuance of duplicate and triplicate academic documents, ensuring a more standardized and transparent system for students, educational institutions, and other stakeholders across the province.

Understanding the Revised Fee Structure for Verification Services

The updated fee schedule introduces specific charges for different types of certificate verification, reflecting the administrative effort and resources required for each service. For departmental certificate verification, which typically involves official requests from government bodies, educational institutions, or other organizations for authentication of academic records, the fee has now been set at Rs. 2,000. This ensures that official requests are processed efficiently while covering the associated administrative costs.

Similarly, the fee for student certificate verification has also been standardized at Rs. 2,000. This service is crucial for students who need to verify their academic credentials for various purposes, such as university admissions, job applications, or immigration procedures. By setting a clear fee, BISE Sargodha aims to provide a consistent and predictable cost for students seeking authentication of their intermediate and secondary education certificates.

For personal verifications conducted within Pakistan, a distinct category often utilized by individuals requiring direct verification for personal records or applications, the new charge is Rs. 3,500. This differentiates it from institutional or general student verification, reflecting potentially more personalized handling or specific requirements. The introduction of these distinct categories and their corresponding fees is part of a broader effort by the board to bring greater clarity and structure to its service offerings, ensuring that each type of request is addressed with appropriate resources and at a fair cost.

New Charges for Duplicate and Triplicate Certificates

Beyond verification services, BISE Sargodha has also significantly revised the fees associated with obtaining duplicate and triplicate academic certificates. These services are vital for students who may have lost their original documents due to unforeseen circumstances or require additional copies for various official purposes.

For a duplicate certificate processed through ordinary channels, the new fee is Rs. 5,000. This standard processing option caters to individuals who are not under immediate time constraints and can wait for the regular processing period. However, recognizing the urgent needs that sometimes arise, the board has introduced a higher fee for urgent duplicate certificate requests, which now stands at Rs. 6,000. This premium charge ensures expedited processing for students who require their duplicate documents on a priority basis, such as for last-minute university admissions or job deadlines.

Furthermore, the board has updated the fee for a triplicate certificate, which is a third copy of the original academic document. Obtaining a triplicate certificate will now require a payment of Rs. 12,000. The higher fee for triplicate copies reflects the increased administrative scrutiny and official procedures involved in issuing a third certified copy of an individual's academic record, emphasizing the importance of these documents. These structured fees aim to deter frivolous requests while ensuring that legitimate needs for replacement certificates are met efficiently and securely.
