The registration form enrols you with a university as a private (external) candidate. It creates your registration number and card, and without it no exam admission form is accepted. GCUF states this directly: candidates must obtain a registration number from the Registration Branch before appearing in any exam.If you are already registered with the same university, you don't register again. PU's practice is that candidates already registered with PU, as regular or private, do not apply again. Use your existing number and go straight to the exam form.
PU accepts the form online. Fill it on the registration portal, then print it and submit it with the required documents and challan to the Registration Branch. The official portals are linked from the PU Examination section.
Attach a CNIC or B-form copy, and an NOC if your BA/BSc came from a university other than PU. Add an equivalence certificate where it applies, and the paid challan. Candidates who passed a supplementary exam last year must attach the original failure certificate.
Forms sent in bulk by academies or private colleges are not accepted.
Read the full Punjab University MA/MSc registration rules for private candidates before you pay anything.
PU's pattern has been stable for years. In its 2020 notice, single-fee forms closed on 29 January, late-fee forms on 26 February, and double-fee forms on 14 May for the following year's Part-I exam. In 2026 PU went further and extended the double-fee window to 21 June for private candidates. Treat these as a pattern, not a promise. The 2027 notice will appear on PU's examination news page. After submission, the registration card takes time. Expect roughly 45 days after the form is received. See the PU private MA/MSc registration form and fee guide for the fee breakdown format.
GCUF runs registration through its private student portal. The official sequence is: fill the online application, print the application and fee voucher, pay the fee in a bank, then attach documents and submit them at the GCUF Registration Branch.
GCUF posts each cycle's schedule on its annual system registration page. Its downloads page lists a registration form for external candidates and a separate MA/MSc admission form for private candidates and affiliated colleges. Keep the two straight. The first gets you registered. The second lets you sit the paper.
KU handles private candidates through its External Unit. In recent notices, registration forms were available at campus bank branches for a small fee, and were submitted with the paid voucher and documents at Counter No. 3, Silver Jubilee Gate. Changing a subject after registration is possible only with a prescribed fee.
KU revises fees and dates with each notice, and the older figures circulating online are outdated. Confirm on the University of Karachi website before you pay. For exam timing after registration, see the Karachi University date sheets.
These are two different submissions at different times. Registration is a one-time enrolment that gives you your number and card. The admission form is filed each exam cycle, using that number, and leads to your roll number slip. Candidates who lose a cycle usually do so by filing the admission form without a valid registration number.
Most rejections come from a short list of mistakes:
Print a fresh challan from the official portal each cycle, and check every field before you pay.
If you are comparing subjects and universities, see MA admissions. Once registered, track your MA date sheet.
It is the form private and external candidates fill in to register with a university before sitting MA exams. It records your personal details, qualification and chosen subject, and it comes with a fee challan.
Open your university's official website, find the current registration notice, fill in the online form, print it with the challan, pay the fee at the designated bank and submit everything with your documents before the deadline.
Candidates already registered with Punjab University generally do not need to register again. The same principle applies at BZU for its own BA/BSc graduates. Confirm in your university's current notice.
Usually a CNIC or B-form copy, your BA/BSc result card or degree, an equivalence certificate or NOC where applicable, recent photographs and the paid fee challan.
Most universities accept late forms with a double fee and then a triple fee in a final window. After the last window closes, you wait for the next cycle.
No. Each university sets its own fee and changes it from year to year, so check the current notification of your university before paying.
