MA Admission 2026 in Pakistan: Last Dates, Private Forms, AIOU and UOS Schedule

There is no single national MA deadline in Pakistan. The date depends on the route you take. AIOU's Autumn 2026 window was extended to 6 October 2026 with a late fee. Private MA/MSc forms follow each university's annual-exam schedule, and University of Balochistan private forms run 11 October to 5 November 2026. Confirm MA-specific dates on the university portal before paying any fee.

AIOU MA Admission 2026

Last Date and Late Fee

AIOU extended Autumn 2026 admissions to October 6, with a late fee on applications in the extended period. One other report gives 5 October, so treat the portal's countdown as final. The extension notices name Matric, FA, Associate Degree, B.Ed, PGD and certificates. MA is not listed in them, so check that your programme is still open.

How AIOU Applications Work

Applications go through AIOU's online admission system, with manual options and sale points for some programmes. AIOU says it confirms admission by SMS and email.

AIOU Eligibility

A third-party guide puts the requirement at a bachelor's degree with at least 45% marks from an HEC-recognised university. Treat this as indicative and check it against the current AIOU prospectus.

UOS Private MA Admission 2026

What We Know

The University of Sargodha runs MA/MSc as an annual system for private candidates. The last schedule UOS published on its downloads page, for the 1st Annual 2025 exam, ran 19 to 26 September 2025. I could not find a 2026 equivalent. If UOS follows last year's pattern, the window would already be closing or closed, but that is inference, not confirmation.su

What to Do

Open su.edu.pk, go to Downloads and Private Admission, and look for the MA/MSc 1st Annual 2026 schedule. If it is missing, the 2nd Annual cycle is the next window. Last year's was 23 April to 2 May 2025.su

Punjab University and Other Private MA Schedules

PU private MA/MSc registration runs on an annual cycle. For Part-I 2026, the final extension was double fee until 21 June 2026, so that window is shut. Registration for the next annual exam normally opens in winter, so watch pu.edu.pk.

Other universities publish on their own calendars. UoB private forms accept normal, late, double and triple fee from 11 October to 5 November 2026. Download IUB forms from iub.edu.pk.

Single Fee, Late Fee and Double Fee Explained

Most Pakistani universities charge on a sliding scale. The normal fee applies in the first window, then a late fee, then double fee, and in some cases triple. Fee amounts for the same university differ between third-party sites, for instance PU's single fee is quoted at Rs 4,500 on one site and Rs 5,280 on another. Always take the amount from the official challan.

Private MA vs Regular MA Admission

Private candidates sit the university's annual exam without attending classes. Regular admission means joining a department or affiliated college, usually through an advertised merit or test process. Regular intakes at public universities cluster early in the year, for example Sindh University's MA English notice closing 16 April 2026 and several others in January and February.

Documents Required

Keep these ready as scans: CNIC or B-Form, bachelor's degree or transcript, passport-size photo, and the paid fee challan. Private candidates may also need an attested form and an NOC if switching university. One UOS form notes attestation by university professors, college principals or school heads.

How to Apply Step by Step

  1. Choose your route: AIOU, private annual exam, or regular admission.
  2. Find the current schedule on the official site, not a copied notice.
  3. Check eligibility against your degree and marks.
  4. Fill the online form or download the private form.
  5. Pay the fee through the listed bank or challan, noting which tier applies on that date.
  6. Submit before the deadline and save your receipt.
