2. PURPOSE OF THE NOTICE

The PMO, Sindh Barrages Improvement Project (funded by the World Bank and implemented by the Irrigation Department, Government of Sindh), intends to hire an eligible, motivated, and dynamic professional as an Individual Consultant based in Karachi, through a competitive process.

4. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

4.1 Education

  • Masters degree in a relevant field such as:

    • Civil Engineering

    • Hydrology

    • Geomorphology

4.2 Experience

  • Approximately 15 years of experience in:

    • River engineering

    • Sediment management

    • Geomorphology

4.3 Technical Skills

  • Required: Proficiency in MS Office

  • Desirable: Proficiency in specialist software for:

    • Modelling

    • Data analysis

    • GIS

4.4 Interpersonal/Professional Competencies

  • Ability to work closely with senior officials within the Irrigation Department

  • Confidence and capability to advise and influence at the level of:

    • The Secretary of the Department

    • Chief Engineers

5. SELECTION METHOD

  • Selection shall be made in accordance with the method contained in the World Bank's Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers, Revised Edition of September 2023.

  • Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.

  • No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview.
