JOIN THE TEAM – LEAD THE MISSION
The Planning Commission of Pakistan plays a vital role in the overall development, planning, and policymaking of the country. It aims to revitalize itself as a premier development think tank and policy advisor to the Government of Pakistan by emphasizing excellence in research and evidence-based planning.
Applications are invited for the following senior-level position:
Member (Infrastructure and Regional Connectivity)
Planning Commission, Islamabad
Option 1:
Ph.D. in Civil/Mechanical/Agricultural/Engineering Management (from an HEC-recognized national/international university).
14 years of post-B.E. professional experience in developing and delivering large-scale infrastructure projects (national/international/regional level), including 5 years in managerial positions at the policy-making level.
Option 2:
Master’s degree in Civil/Mechanical/Agricultural/Engineering Management (from an HEC-recognized national/international university).
18 years of post-B.E. professional experience in infrastructure development, including 7 years in managerial roles at the policy-making level.
Option 3:
B.E. in Civil/Mechanical/Agricultural/Engineering Management (from an HEC-recognized national/international university).
20 years of post-B.E. experience in delivering mega infrastructure projects, including relevant managerial experience at the policy-making level.
Promote and coordinate economic and infrastructure initiatives aimed at regional economic integration (including CPEC PMO).
Oversee sustainable urban planning and development efforts.
Prepare short, medium, and long-term plans for sectors such as:
Roads and Highways
Railways
Civil Aviation
Tourism
Postal and Telecommunication
Water Distribution
Local and Municipal Infrastructure
Works and Housing
Evaluate and approve various development projects.
Prepare implementation plans for annual development programs and five-year plans.
Conduct research studies related to physical infrastructure development.
Develop implementation-oriented projects to enhance regional cooperation and connectivity for trade and competition.
Collaborate with development partners and assist in formulating Pakistan’s infrastructure sector strategy.
Participate in CDWP and ECNEC meetings as a sector expert and assist in the approval of infrastructure projects and programs.
Undertake any assignment assigned by the Prime Minister, Minister for Planning, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission (DCPC), or Secretary, PD&SI.
Maximum Age Limit: 62 years (on the last date of application submission).
Tenure: Initially 2 years, extendable annually up to a maximum of 4 years based on performance.
Pay Package: SPPS-1 Scale
