Job Opportunities at National Economic Transformation & 5Es Unit

The National Economic Transformation & 5Es Unit under the Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives invites applications from qualified and motivated professionals for the position of Research Associate (PPS-07). The Unit plays a central role in shaping Pakistan’s economic development agenda through evidence-based policies aligned with the 5Es Framework: Economy, Education, Environment, Energy, and Equity.

Position Details

Position Title: Research Associate

Project Scale: PPS-07

Number of Positions: 02

Location: Islamabad

Contract Duration:

  • Initial appointment: 2 years

  • Extendable: 1 additional year, subject to satisfactory performance

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, or a related discipline

  • From a reputable HEC-recognized national or international university

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in economic or development-related work

Age Limit:

  • Maximum 40 years at the closing date for application submission

Job Description

The Research Associate will support the Unit’s strategic efforts to advance economic transformation and development. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive research and analysis across the 5Es domains

  • Collecting, compiling, and evaluating qualitative and quantitative data

  • Preparing reports, briefs, and policy notes aligned with national priorities

  • Supporting the design of evidence-based policies, programs, and initiatives

  • Contributing to strategic planning and performance monitoring

  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, including government entities, experts, and development partners

This position requires a results-driven, goal-oriented, and achievement-focused professional with strong analytical skills and command over development themes.
