VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) is a state-owned enterprise under the administrative control of the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), Government of Pakistan. PMDC is responsible for the exploration, mining, and marketing of various minerals across the country.

PMDC invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the following position on an open contract basis:

Position:

General Manager – ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance)

Qualification Requirements:

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree (16 years of education) in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized university.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a relevant field.

Additional certifications in ESG, Sustainability, Occupational Health & Safety, or related areas will be an advantage.

Experience:

Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in a managerial capacity.

Should have demonstrable expertise in areas such as:

Environmental Strategy & ESG Reporting

Social Impact Strategy & Assessment

Occupational Health & Safety

Stakeholder Engagement and Corporate Governance

Age Limit:

Maximum age: 50 years

Key Job Responsibilities:

Develop and lead PMDC’s ESG and sustainability strategies in line with global standards such as GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) and SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board).

Oversee and enhance health & safety protocols across all operational sites, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.

Drive the achievement of environmental objectives including emission reduction, energy efficiency, resource conservation, and legal compliance.

Lead ESG data management, reporting, and preparation of quarterly and annual ESG performance reports for the Board of Directors.

Develop and enforce governance frameworks to ensure ethical, transparent, and responsible business conduct.

Formulate and manage budgets for Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) as well as ESG-related programs.

Supervise Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, including community development initiatives and employee well-being.

Strive to position PMDC among the safest and most ESG-compliant mining organizations in the industry.

Establish baseline metrics for emissions from freshwater usage and solid waste generation.

Conduct internal audits and safety inspections, and maintain coordination with regulatory bodies such as the EPA, NDMA, and Rescue 1122.
