Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC)

Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) is a state-owned enterprise working under the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum Division, Government of Pakistan. PMDC is primarily responsible for the exploration, mining, and marketing of various minerals.

PMDC invites applications for the following position on an open contract basis:

Chief Internal Auditor

Qualification Criteria

The applicant must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Be a member of a recognized body of professional accountants; or

  • Be a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, or Certified Internal Control Auditor; or

  • Hold a Master's degree in Finance from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of post-qualification experience.

  • At least five (5) years of experience in public sector companies.

  • Experience working with Board and Committee structures with strong communication skills.

  • Preference will be given to candidates familiar with the mineral industry, though it is not mandatory.

Age Limit

  • Maximum Age: 50 years

Key Responsibilities

The Chief Internal Auditor shall:

  1. Report directly to the Audit Committee and maintain unrestricted access to company records.

  2. Evaluate the accounting, financial, credit, and operational activities as part of an independent audit function.

  3. Ensure the effective management of the company's financial resources.

  4. Review and assess the soundness and application of financial and operational controls.

  5. Design and implement internal audit programs to ensure thorough examination of all financial transactions.

  6. Prepare detailed reports, observations, and recommendations for improvement based on audit findings.

  7. Develop and manage a competent internal audit team.

  8. Undertake special investigations upon the direction of the Audit Committee or Board of Directors.

  9. Maintain effective liaison with external and commercial auditors.
