About the Organization (Description):

Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) is a state-owned enterprise operating under the administrative control of the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), Government of Pakistan.
PMDC is responsible for the exploration, mining, and marketing of a variety of mineral resources across Pakistan, contributing significantly to the country's mineral development and industrial growth.

The organization is seeking qualified and dynamic professionals for appointment on an open contract basis for the following position:

Position Details

Position Title:

Deputy Manager (Geophysics)

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geophysics, Applied Geology, or Earth Sciences from an HEC-recognized institution.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in conducting, analyzing, and interpreting geophysical surveys for mineral exploration.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in operating geophysical instruments and software-based data analysis.

Age Limit:

  • Maximum Age: 35 years

Key Job Responsibilities (Details):

  1. Operate and manage geophysical instruments and equipment, including seismic, magnetic, and gravity measurement tools.

  2. Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of geophysical equipment to ensure accuracy and performance.

  3. Design and execute geophysical survey programs to collect data on subsurface geological structures.

  4. Collect, process, and analyze geophysical data using specialized software to develop accurate geological interpretations.

  5. Interpret geophysical data to identify geological features, subsurface structures, and potential mineral deposits.

  6. Implement quality control measures to ensure the reliability and precision of survey data.

  7. Identify and resolve technical issues or discrepancies encountered during data collection or analysis.

  8. Integrate geophysical data with geological and mining information in collaboration with geologists, mining engineers, and related professionals.

  9. Compile comprehensive technical reports detailing methodologies, findings, and recommendations for exploration and development activities.

  10. Stay updated on advancements in geophysical techniques, technologies, and industry best practices.

  11. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations governing geophysical operations and data handling.

  12. Promote and uphold safety standards during all fieldwork and equipment operations.
