JOB OPPORTUNITY

Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Expert

Project: Warsak Hydroelectric Power Station – 2nd Rehabilitation Project
Place of Posting: Warsak
Position Type: Contractual

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification & Experience

Minimum 16 years of education in Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.

At least 5 years of professional experience in a similar role.

Experience on large-scale donor-funded infrastructure/rehabilitation projects is highly desirable.

Candidates with NEBOSH/IOSH certification will be preferred.

Tenure

Initial contract duration is 1 year, extendable based on:

Performance review

Project requirements

WAPDA policy

Contract valid up to project completion only.

Pay Package

Lump Sum Monthly Salary: PKR 200,000
(Inclusive of all perks and privileges)

Mandate & Charter of Duties

The selected EHS Expert will be responsible for:

Supporting project management in implementing the Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) protocols.

Monitoring the EHS compliance of both rehabilitation works and existing facilities, including the Powerhouse and WAPDA Workshop.

Conducting EHS assessments and audits regularly.

Identifying potential EHS risks, maintaining a risk register, and implementing mitigation measures.

Preparing, reviewing, and submitting environmental and social monitoring reports (monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, and annually) to WAPDA management and donor agencies.

Maintaining proper documentation including incident reports, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.

Coordinating with consultants, contractors, and WAPDA departments on all EHS-related matters.

Liaising with donor agencies, local authorities, and communities to address environmental and social concerns.

Designing and delivering EHS training programs for staff and workers.

Leading EHS awareness sessions, ensuring all personnel understand EHS policies and procedures.

Investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses, determining root causes, and enforcing corrective actions.

Integrating lessons learned into the EHS management system to improve future safety.

Performing any additional tasks assigned by the Authority.
