Vacant Position & Eligibility Criteria

Senior Associate (Geophysics)

  • Maximum Age: 33 Years (as of the closing date of the advertisement)

  • Education:

    • 4-year BS Geophysics (Minimum 16 years of education) from an HEC-recognized institution.

    • MS degree is preferred.

  • Experience:

    • 3 to 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience in Quality Control (QC), processing, and interpreting geophysical surveys for geo-resource exploration.

    • Essential broad knowledge of the metals and mining industry.

    • Advantageous: Experience in operating geophysical instruments and software-driven data analysis.

  • Domicile Preference: Candidates with a domicile of Balochistan, KPK, and Islamabad will be preferred.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Program Execution: Plan and execute geophysical exploration programs using specialized techniques such as ERT, EM, magnetic, gravity, and other potential field methods.

  • Data Processing & QC: Process, quality check, and interpret geophysical datasets for subsurface mapping, exploration targeting, and resource evaluation.

  • Subsurface Modeling: Develop integrated 2D and 3D subsurface models by combining geophysical data with geological mapping, lithology, geochemistry, and drilling results.

  • Field Support: Assist with survey planning, data collection, instrument operation, and field QC to maintain operational efficiency.

  • Database Management: Manage, validate, archive, and meta-tag exploration and geophysical databases to improve access and reporting workflows.

  • Software Utilization: Use advanced software and analytical tools like Oasis Montaj alongside automation tools for data workflow support.

  • Technical Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations communicating survey outcomes, target rationales, and exploration risks to technical and management teams.

  • Project Delivery: Assist in defining work scopes, tracking timelines, mitigating technical risks, and ensuring cost-conscious project execution.

  • Compliance & Innovation: Keep up-to-date with new geophysical technologies and ensure total compliance with local, national, and international operational regulations.
