Civil Engineer (Karachi Based)

Institution Overview:

The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) is a leading postgraduate medical education institution with headquarters in Karachi and regional centers across Pakistan.

Department:

Maintenance and Project Department

Job Description:

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing infrastructure maintenance and development projects.

  • Managing civil works at CPSP headquarters and regional centers.

  • Supervising construction, renovation, and repair operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise civil maintenance and infrastructure development projects.

  • Plan, execute, and monitor construction and renovation works in coordination with architects, consultants, and contractors.

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure structural integrity and safety compliance.

  • Prepare detailed project documentation including:

    • Cost estimates

    • Work schedules

    • Progress updates

  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and CPSP policies.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.

    • Additional certifications (e.g., in Project Management or Supply Chain Management) are preferred.

  • Experience:

    • Substantial relevant experience in civil works, project management, and infrastructure maintenance, especially in institutional or organizational setups.

  • Skills Required:

    • Knowledge of building codes, structural systems, and utilities.

    • Proficiency in tools/software:

      • MS Office

      • AutoCAD

      • MS Project

      • Other project management tools

    • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and teamwork abilities.
